Have you ever heard about humanistic therapy?
There are a lot of forms of therapy and humanistic therapy is one of them. Humanistic therapy is also known as humanism and is a positive approach to psychotherapy. The main focus of this form of therapy is focusing on the own individual nature of a person, rather than putting people with similar characteristics in one categorie.
In the late 1950, some psychologists saw limitations and negative theories of behavioral and psychoanalytic schools of therapy. Out of this, humanism came to light. Humanism was seen as a new and more holistic approach. Around this time a human hierarchy of human nature and a person-centered approach were developed and from these two developments, humanistic therapy evolved.
