Have you ever heard of Animal Assisted Therapy?
You may have heard about dogs who alleviate PTSD, horses that cure ADHD and dolphins who can relieve depression: these are different forms of Animal Assisted Therapy. The idea behind Animal Assisted Therapy is that of relying on animals to assist in therapy sessions: depending on the needs of the patient, the therapist may use horses, dolphins, lamas, rabbits and other during a session with a client.
There is often a strong bond between a person and an animal. Many people feel that animals are more accepting than humans and do not judge them: for these people Animal Assisted Therapy can help them feel comfortable and open up during therapy.
